This Privacy Policy explains how Pieco Direct LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Prep Label mobile application (“Prep Label,” “the app”) on iPhone or iPad.

Summary

Prep Label is built for kitchen prep labeling. In short:

  • No account is required to use the app.

  • We do not operate a server that receives or stores your product catalog from the app.

  • Your products, categories, and printer settings are saved on your device only.

  • Bluetooth is used to connect to compatible Bixolon label printers you pair in iOS Settings.

  • Tapping Order Labels and Accessories opens our website (Pieco Direct) in your browser — that site has its own privacy practices.

Information the app stores on your device

Prep Label saves the following locally on your iPhone or iPad (using Apple’s on-device storage APIs). This data stays on your device unless you export it, back up your device to iCloud/iTunes, or delete the app.

We do not upload this catalog to our servers through the app.

Information we do not collect through the app

Prep Label, as currently designed, does not:

  • Require you to create an account or sign in

  • Collect your name, email, or phone number inside the app

  • Send your product list to our servers for storage or analytics

  • Use in-app advertising or third-party analytics SDKs (e.g. Firebase Analytics)

  • Track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising

If we add features that change this (for example, cloud sync or accounts), we will update this policy and the app before or when those features launch.

Device permissions

Bluetooth

Prep Label requests Bluetooth access to:

  • List paired MFi-compatible Bixolon printers already connected to your device

  • Optionally scan for nearby label printers to help you pair them in iOS Settings

Bluetooth is used for printing functionality, not for advertising or selling your data. You can deny Bluetooth permission; Bixolon printing will not work, but AirPrint and other app features may still work.

External Accessory (MFi)

The app declares support for Bixolon Made for iPhone (MFi) protocols so iOS can communicate with a paired Bixolon label printer. Communication is direct between your device and your printer — not routed through our servers.

Local network / AirPrint

When you use AirPrint, Apple’s system print sheet handles communication with printers on your network. That process is governed by Apple’s privacy and security practices.

Import, export, and backups

  • Export (JSON/CSV): You choose when to export. Files are created on your device and shared via the iOS share sheet (email, Files, AirDrop, etc.). We do not receive those files unless you send them to us voluntarily (e.g. support email).

  • Import: You select a file from your device or cloud storage. The app reads it locally to update your catalog.

  • Device backup: If you back up your iPhone or iPad to iCloud or a computer, Apple may include app data in that backup per your backup settings.

The app may open links in Safari (or your default browser), including:

App Store and Apple

Prep Label is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect information related to downloads, updates, and device identifiers as described in Apple’s Privacy Policy. We receive limited information from Apple (such as aggregate sales and crash data if you opt in to share analytics with developers) according to your device settings.

Children’s privacy

Prep Label is intended for use in commercial kitchen and business settings. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

How long we keep information

  • On your device: Until you delete items in the app, erase the app, or reset/replace your device.

  • With us: We do not store your catalog on our servers via the app. If you email support, we keep correspondence only as long as needed to help you and meet legal obligations.

Security

We design Prep Label to keep catalog data on your device. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. Protect your device with a passcode or biometric lock and control who has physical access to it in your workplace.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of personal information.

Because we do not hold your catalog on our servers, requests to access or delete data held only on your device must be performed on your device (or by removing the app).

California (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising through this app.

EEA/UK (GDPR): If applicable, our lawful basis for processing device-local data is legitimate interest and performance of the service you request (printing and labeling). Where Bluetooth is used, it is based on your permission.

International users

Prep Label is offered to users where the App Store makes it available. If you use the app outside the United States, your information may be processed on your device under your local laws. Contact us with questions about international use.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the Last updated date. For material changes, we may also notify you in the app or on our website. Continued use of Prep Label after changes means you accept the updated policy.
